Activation problem with Office 2016 for Mac under Yosemite I am having trouble getting all components of Office 2016 activated, running under Yosemite. To get the latest update, open an Office for Mac application, go to the Help Check for Updates menu, and follow the instructions in the AutoUpdate app. This issue has been fixed in version 16.11.1 or higher. This only occurs with Word for Mac 2016 Version 16.11 and does not seem to affect other Office products. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. Upon accepting the update, Office for Mac 2008 gets automatically upgraded to Office 2016. Microsoft AutoUpdate may offer Office 2016 for Mac updates even though you have Office for Mac 2008 installed.
